  • Purpose
    Ashlesha Bali is a time-honored ritual that aims to protect against doshas like Sarpa Dosha, Naga Dosha, Kuja Dosha, Mangalya Dosha, and Kala Sarpa Dosha. Devotees believe that the ritual can help with health issues, marital problems, and fertility challenges. 
  • When to perform
    Ashlesha Bali is performed on the Ashlesha Nakshatram. It can be performed on all days except Dashami, Ekadashi, Gokulastami, Shivarathri, Grahana (Eclipse), and during the annual festival for 15 days. 
  • How it’s performed
    The ritual includes invoking Lord Subrahmanya to dispel the doshas and performing Ashlesh Bali Homa, a fire ritual. 
  • Where to perform
    The Ashlesha Bali ritual is performed at the Kukke Subrahmanya temple in the village of Subramanya, Dakshina Kannada district.
